Dr Jeffrey K.C. TAM

Jeffrey began his career in the field of acoustics after obtaining his Bachelor's and PhD degrees in the Department of Building Services Engineering from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He focused on acoustic signal processing and outdoor sound propagation during his academic years. After completing his studies in 2012, he worked as an acoustics specialist contractor. He headed a team that provided noise control and vibration isolation solutions for different types of premises, primarily focusing on acoustics box-in-box systems. Currently, he holds the position of principal consultant at Campbell Shillinglaw Lau Ltd., where he leads and oversees the implementation of acoustics design.
In 2022, Jeffrey joined the Hong Kong Institute of Acoustics (HKIOA) as a Co-opt committee member. He has organised and facilitated numerous webinars, seminars and technical visits focused on indoor acoustics and acted as a committee member for the Acoustics Awards 2023.
Jeffrey played a significant role as Convener for the 13th Cross-Strait Acoustics Conference in 2023. In this position, he was responsible for overseeing the planning and execution of the conference, which brought together experts and researchers from across the region to exchange ideas, present their work, and foster collaborations in the field of acoustics.
